I'm Alive

Hi all,

I see that there is still a lot of people visiting this blog which is really fun.

A lot of things has happened since my last update here.
I've quite my job as a designer for Lee jeans just to try out my dream.
I'm trying to start up my own denim production in a house that a bought in a small town called Lindesberg that lies in the heart of Bergslagen, Sweden.

I've also started to do a lot of interior stuff from driftwood and other things that I find in the nature around my hose.

It takes a lot of time to get everything started, but now I can see the end of the tunnel. So hopefully in a few month the first products will be out for sale.
So please follow me on Instagram were I post the latest updates.

The Jeans Are Taking Form

Here is the progress since last time.

As you probably can see I've changed the thread color since last time. I wasn't that happy with the tobacco color so I had to unpick some of the stitching. Now I only have to add belt loops, coin pocket, rivets and buttons.

Lee Originals 101 Y

I'm actually in the middle of writing a thesis work. But the weird thing is that for some reasons there's a lot more fun things to do then to write, like do the dishes, play the guitar our take some photos of denim.

So here are some wear pics of my Lee 101Y. I've been wearing these every day since mid October 2012.

Building some denim

I'm back.

I've had an awesome internship at Lee and in March I'll be going back. I can't revile to much of the things that I've done but almost all the tops for the S/S14 Lee101 collection is drawn by me. And when I return in March I will see the final results of the clothes. I'm really looking forward to that.

But there still some time left until March and during this time I will produce some more clothes.
I'm going to make a pair of jeans for a friend, the first pair that I'll be doing for someone else. We'll see how that goes. And also I'm thinking of doing some shirt-jackets for myself.

Before my internship I started with a pair of jeans for my self and yesterday I did some more work on them. This is how far I got.

I did a new thing when I attached the back pockets. I put the bar tacks on the inside of the pocket and then I folded the pocket over the bar tacks. This is an old way of doing it. I believe they did it because the bar tack machines weren't that powerful back then. And by doing like this you only have to go through two layers of denim.

I have to say I felt a bit rusty, it's been a while now since I sewn so I might redo some of the stitching.

Internship at Lee

It's been a while since my last update, the last couple of month has been real hectic for me. But now I finally got some time off to start with a new project. Or so i thought anyway.

Last week I began drawing and cutting out the pieces for a new pair of jeans. The fabric bellow is an old fabric from probably the late 60's and it's made in Sweden. I'm using it for my pocket lining.

As you can see, it's sanforized.

I use my broken twill fabric for the jeans because the jeans that I did before in the same fabric have expand so much that I can't wear it anymore. So this time I will make it real tight. The model that I'm going for is a loose and narrow. I redraw my pattern that I used on my first pair of JEANS. I made the front and back rice a bit longer and I took it in, in the waist. Changed the pocket shape and I'm also going to make a watch pocket that will go up on to the waist band.

All the pieces cut out.

And this is how far I got.

Unfortunately this week I got sick. I planned to have the jeans ready yesterday because today I'm off to  Antwerp for my internship at Lee jeans =) =) =)  I'm going to do my internship at the denim design department. I said that I was going to do some post's on my last internship at Indigofera, but I didn't, so I wan't promise anything, but maybe you'll see some post's from this one.

I'll be back in Sweden again in December, so the jeans have to wait till then. My girlfriend is also having a really awesome internship, she's going to be at LVC in Amsterdam! You can follow her on http://thebluethimble.blogspot.se And don't forget our FACEBOOK page.
